Job Description: Job title: Accounts Assistant Role Summary: Deliver accurate and timely accounting support for a real‑estate finance team, covering fixed assets, VAT/HMRC returns, purchase ledger, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and ad‑hoc projects. Expectations: Demonstrate a proactive, “can‑do” attitude; work collaboratively with a 10‑person finance team; adapt quickly to a fixed‑term maternity cover schedule; begin immediately in December 2025. Key Responsibilities: • Fixed assets administration and posting  • VAT and HMRC return preparation  • Purchase ledger invoicing, payment processing and supplier communication  • Bank reconciliation and variance investigation  • Balance sheet reconciliation and month‑end close support  • Participate in ad‑hoc finance projects as required  Required Skills: • Sound knowledge of UK accounting principles and software (e.g., Xero, Sage)  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset  • Effective written and verbal communication  • Team‑player with initiative to learn and grow  Required Education & Certifications: • Minimum 5 GCSEs, grades A‑C  • 2–3 years experience as an accounts assistant  • AAT qualification (study) preferred but not essential
