**Job Title:** Java Technical Lead
**Role Summary**
Lead and manage a distributed team of 7‑8 software engineers to deliver end‑to‑end software solutions on a 12‑month contract. Drive project planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support while ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with stakeholder goals.
**Expectations**
- Successfully manage full software development lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects.
- Mentor offshore team, ensuring effective cross‑time‑zone communication and collaboration.
- Maintain high code quality, performance, and reliability across backend and frontend components.
- Oversee seamless deployment pipelines from development to production.
**Key Responsibilities**
- • Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team, setting clear goals and standards.
- • Own project planning, design reviews, development, testing, deployment, and post‑release support.
- • Drive delivery of projects on schedule, within scope, and to agreed quality metrics.
- • Oversee end‑to‑end deployments, ensuring smooth transitions from dev to prod environments.
- • Provide technical guidance on Java, Spring Framework, Vue.js, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tooling.
- • Advise on relational database design, optimization, and management (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to align technical strategy with business goals.
**Required Skills**
- • Leadership of distributed / offshore software teams.
- • Deep expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Vue.js, Docker, Kubernetes.
- • Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- • Strong system architecture, design, and deployment knowledge.
- • Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and orchestration.
- • Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder‑management skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- • Optional industry certifications: AWS Certified Developer, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent.
