Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer – Mid-Level Role Summary: Mid‑level software engineer for a 6‑month engagement focused on sustaining and modernizing corporate accounting systems. Will immediately support existing production environments, vendor applications, and custom integrations while contributing to ongoing modernization initiatives. Expactations: * Rapid onboarding and ability to work independently on production issues. * Strong problem‑solving, judgment, and communication to collaborate across onshore and offshore teams. * Proficiency in Python, Java, Git, AWS, SQL, and API development. * Familiarity with financial domain systems preferred. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain business‑as‑usual operations of current accounting systems. * Troubleshoot and resolve tickets from users, vendors, and internal teams. * Support vendor‑managed systems and custom integrations. * Contribute to modernization efforts through code reviews, architecture discussions, and deployment pipelines. * Collaborate with a small onshore team and offshore counterparts (India) to deliver features and fix defects. * Participate in agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, retrospectives) led by a delivery manager. Required Skills: * Programming: Python, Java, SQL, API integration. * Version Control: Git. * Cloud: AWS services and deployment practices. * Database: Relational database fundamentals (SQL). * Financial Systems: Experience or knowledge of corporate accounting or finance domain. * Vendor and Integration Experience: Working with third‑party applications. * Soft Skills: Rapid learning, flexibility, excellent communication, and teamwork ability. * Optional: Informatica, JCL, COBOL, Oracle EPM suite familiarity.
