Job Description
**Job title** Quality Control Technician **Role Summary** Final quality assurance specialist in sterile processing. Combines technical processing of surgical instruments with rigorous inspection, documentation, and compliance to ensure patient safety and regulatory adherence before instruments reach the operating room. **Expectations** - Master ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, and internal SOPs. - Maintain meticulous accuracy, zero-defect quality, and protection of infection control protocols. - Operate and monitor sterilization equipment safely and efficiently. - Provide continuous improvement feedback on workflow and safety. **Key Responsibilities** - Decontaminate, disassemble, clean, and reassemble complex surgical equipment under PPE and protocols. - Perform final-stage inspection of cleanliness, functionality, and damage; act as the ultimate quality gatekeeper. - Assemble and package instrument trays/sets, ensuring correct counts and integrity. - Operate washers, sterilizers, and associated equipment. - Record sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, inventory levels, and any missing or damaged items per SOPs. - Conduct routine cleaning, maintenance, and inventory monitoring of sterile processing equipment. - Identify and suggest process improvements for safety, workflow, and operational efficiency. **Required Skills** - Meticulous detail orientation; zero-defect quality control. - Strong understanding of infection control and regulatory standards (ANSI/AAMI). - Ability to follow complex technical instructions (IFUs, SOPs). - Excellent organizational abilities; multitask in high‑pressure environment. - Clear, professional communication and teamwork skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Current certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CRCST or equivalent). ---
