**Job title:** Power System Engineer Intern – Summer **Role Summary:** Assist in performing network-wide steady‑state and short‑circuit studies for the Texas and Eastern Interconnections, support process improvement initiatives, and develop Python scripts to enhance data analysis and modeling workflows. **Expactations:** * Apply theoretical knowledge from electrical engineering coursework to real‑world grid studies. * Collaborate with a transmission manager and cross‑functional team members to deliver accurate analyses. * Maintain high‑quality documentation and adhere to project timelines. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Conduct steady‑state and fault‑analysis simulations on large power system models. 2. Gather and preprocess system data for use in simulation tools. 3. Write and maintain Python scripts for data extraction, calculation, and report generation. 4. Participate in process‑improvement meetings and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency. 5. Prepare concise technical summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders. **Required Skills:** * Proficiency in Power System analysis tools (e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, or DIgSILENT). * Strong programming skills in Python (data manipulation, scripting). * Familiarity with power system fundamentals (steady‑state, short‑circuit, protection coordination). * Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. * Effective written and verbal communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Current enrollment or completion of a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology. * Completion or active enrollment in power systems fundamentals coursework (preferred). * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. ---
