**Job Title**
Principal Telecoms Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, review, and implementation of telecom systems across upstream oil & gas, refinery, and petrochemical projects. Provide technical oversight, ensure compliance with international standards, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective telecom solutions.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality engineering documentation and calculations for CCTV, PAGA, radio, telephone, and other telecom equipment.
- Liaise with vendors, review quotations, and ensure design adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct technical audits, site surveys, and pre‑commissioning activities.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to engineering teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design guidance: Create or review design basis, specifications, BOMs, location plans, cable schedules, 3D models, block diagrams, and schematic drawings.
- Calculations & analysis: Validate CCTV, PAGA, radio, telephone line formulas and coverage studies.
- Field equipment oversight: Review installation, location design, and performance of cameras, speakers, call stations, towers, turnstiles, barriers, and hotline systems.
- Telecom architecture: Develop overall network architecture, interfaces, procurement plans, and implementation strategies.
- Vendor management: Evaluate quotations, conduct shop inspections, and oversee FAT/SAT testing.
- Project management: Produce risk assessments, cost/manpower estimates, bid evaluations, and project proposals.
- Inter‑disciplinary coordination: Perform squad checks with Instrument, Electrical, Process Safety, and other departments.
- Quality assurance: Conduct technical audits, quality reviews, and ensure HSE compliance.
- Communication: Present progress, conduct training sessions, and report technical issues clearly.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D AutoCAD; experience with CCTV, PAGA, RF analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of international telecom codes, standards, and best engineering practices.
- Project management and quality management system experience.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership, decision‑making, and mentoring abilities.
- Adaptability, teamwork, planning, and business acumen.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in telecom, project management, or quality management preferred.
