Job Description

**Job title:** Learning Support Assistant **Role Summary:** Provide direct educational and welfare support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities in a further education setting, working under the direction of the Lead Support Tutor. **Expectations:** - Term‑time only, 37 weeks per year; 28‑hour post. - Demonstrate professional, friendly, and supportive attitude. - Maintain flexibility in working hours to meet learner needs. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist students with preparation and completion of academic work. - Set up and maintain learning spaces, equipment, and materials. - Monitor and record learner progress. - Deliver general assistance, including health, safety, physical, and hygiene support. - Uphold safeguarding and equal opportunities policies. **Required Skills:** - Effective verbal and written communication. - Strong organisational and time‑management abilities. - Ability to motivate and support learners independently. - Knowledge of safeguarding and equal opportunities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy. - Relevant experience or qualifications in education or caring, especially with learners with learning difficulties or disabilities. - DBS check (enhanced) and free of Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. - Level 2 note‑taking qualification or equivalent (desirable).
