Job Description
**Job title:** Intern Quantitative Strategist **Role Summary:** Assist in developing and deploying quantitative investment strategies that leverage alternative data (satellite imagery, geolocation, news, etc.). Support the creation of customized financial instruments (indices, structured products, funds) for hedge funds, banks, and asset managers, while analyzing macroeconomic drivers and their market impacts. **Expectations:** - Deliver end‑to‑end projects from data preprocessing to model deployment. - Present analytical findings and strategy performance to senior teams. - Collaborate closely with IT, Data Science, and client partners. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement statistical/Machine‑Learning models (regression to non‑linear) for investment strategies. - Build and refine alternative‑data pipelines (cleaning, feature extraction). - Develop tailored indices, structured products, or fund frameworks in partnership with external stakeholders. - Analyze macroeconomic indicators, evaluate their methodology, and assess market implications. - Write, test, and maintain Python code (pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn, statsmodels, etc.). - Conduct backtesting, performance attribution, and risk analysis. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python programming and related analytics libraries. - Strong quantitative foundation in mathematics, statistics, and econometrics. - Expertise in time‑series analysis and machine‑learning techniques. - Knowledge of financial markets and economic modeling concepts. - Bilingual communication – clear, structured presentation in English and French. - Ability to translate complex analytical insights into actionable recommendations. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline. - Completion of advanced coursework or certifications in machine‑learning, econometrics, or quantitative finance is preferred.
