Remote Web Designer – Figma + CSS, HTML, WordPress‑PHP
**Role Summary**
Design and develop responsive, custom WordPress websites from concept to production. Create clear, structured designs in Figma and translate them into clean, maintainable code using HTML, CSS, and PHP. Work independently in a remote setting with opportunities to advance into senior design and development roles.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine design requirements and technical scope.
- Maintain high coding standards, ensuring cross‑browser and cross‑device compatibility.

- Continuously improve workflows and suggest enhancements to design and development processes.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Produce detailed website designs in Figma, including layout, typography, color schemes, and component libraries.
2. Convert Figma mockups into functional WordPress themes or page templates using HTML, CSS, and PHP.
3. Implement custom WordPress functionality, including custom post types, taxonomies, and shortcodes as needed.
4. Optimize site performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and SEO best practices.
5. Conduct thorough testing across browsers, devices, and screen sizes; fix bugs and regressions.
6. Document design decisions, code snippets, and deployment procedures for team reference.
7. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and uphold code quality standards.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in Figma (design, prototyping, component creation).
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, preprocessors such as SASS/SCSS).
- Hands‑on experience with WordPress theme development and PHP fundamentals.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile‑first development.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and project collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, JIRA).
- Knowledge of cross‑browser compatibility, accessibility standards, and SEO basics.
- Excellent visual design sense, attention to detail, and ability to translate user needs into clean interfaces.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., WordPress Developer Certification, Figma Specialist) are a plus but not mandatory.
