Job Title: Intern – Engineer in Training (WWT) Role Summary Provide day‑to‑day support to the Plant Capital & Engineering team in the Water & Wastewater Treatment Division. Execute and assist with capital projects—including facility upgrades, removals, and system additions—while gaining practical experience in civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering disciplines within a municipal environment. Expectations - Graduate or graduate between Jan 2025–June 2026 with a recognized post‑secondary degree or diploma in civil, chemical, mechanical, or related engineering. - Work 35 hours per week for a 1‑year contract (June 2026–June 2027). - Travel to plant and construction sites; possess a valid G2 or G driver’s licence and personal transportation. - Demonstrate strong planning, time‑management, and collaboration skills; complete tasks on schedule and adhere to corporate policies. - Engage in corporate training and communicate project status to stakeholders, including public officials and senior management. Key Responsibilities - Assist Project Managers, Senior Project Advisors, and Management with planning, design review, and inspection of capital projects. - Lead or support delivery of minor capital projects across water and wastewater facilities (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, SCADA). - Prepare studies, reports, and metrics analyzing project and program delivery performance. - Coordinate with Plant Operations, Maintenance, SCADA, and Procurement to ensure project milestones are met. - Execute project‑driven communication with the public, elected officials, and senior management. - Participate in corporate governance and training sessions. - Perform additional duties as required.
