Job Description
Job Title: Senior Authorised Person (SAP) – 66 kV Role Summary: Provide safety‑critical high‑voltage (up to 66 kV) operations and maintenance support across offshore wind farm substations, turbines, and the attached network, acting as the primary SAP and Safety Coordinator for boundary operations. Expectations: - Operate safely within regulated HV/LV environments. - Deliver competent, compliant switching, isolation, earthing, and system reinstatement. - Coordinate with grid operator and internal teams on operating procedures and safety. - Manage contractor activities and support HV control room operations. - Maintain and document equipment performance to manufacturer and regulatory standards. - Participate in on‑call and shift rotas as required. Key Responsibilities: • Perform HV switching, turbine maintenance, and SAP coverage for substations. • Issue and enforce safety documentation, isolation, earthing, and system reinstatement procedures. • Serve as Safety Coordinator and SAP for boundary operations, coordinating with grid operator. • Support HV control room activities, oversee contractors, and conduct equipment maintenance. • Assist operations management and OFTO reporting, ensuring secure development of HV/LV and mechanical systems. • Maintain ongoing competence and contribute to safety culture and continuous improvement. Required Skills: - Certified HV Authorised Person up to 66 kV. - Completed electrician apprenticeship. - Experience as a senior SAP under European developer HV safety rules. - Ability to climb and work at heights. - Flexible working patterns, including on‑call rota participation. - Strong communication, planning, and detailed reporting capabilities. - Physical fitness and endurance for offshore operational conditions. Required Education & Certifications: - HV Authorised Person certification (66 kV). - Valid electrician apprenticeship completion. - Current health and safety clearances applicable to offshore wind operations.
