Job Description
Job title: Data Analyst Role Summary: Provide analytical support for commodity price assessment by transforming, validating, and integrating trade and market data. Drive the development of tools and scripts that support daily benchmark creation and ensure data integrity across pricing workflows. Expectations: - Acquire foundational knowledge of commodity trading and price assessment processes. - Maintain high standards of data quality and reliability for pricing decisions. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (data, pricing, systems) to capture requirements and implement solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Clean, normalize, and transform trade and pricing data for benchmark calculations. - Build and maintain Python scripts to validate, process, and transform market data. - Configure data pipelines in core systems to deliver daily market assessments. - Support daily pricing activities, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery. - Develop tools and processes that scale with growing data volumes. - Capture business and technical requirements from the Pricing team and implement new data features. Required Skills: - Programming in Python (data wrangling, automation). - Advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, data manipulation). - Strong numerical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail. - Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and validation workflows. - Ability to work collaboratively in distributed, cross‑functional teams. - Effective communication for capturing and translating requirements. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or data‑centric field (e.g., economics, finance, statistics, computer science) from a reputable university.
