Job Description
Job title: Fire & Security Engineer Role Summary: Responsible for installation, routine servicing, repair, and fault‑finding of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control systems and related equipment. Works independently on-site and as part of a professional team, ensuring systems are fully operational and compliant. Expactations: - Deliver high‑quality service on scheduled installs and maintenance visits - Work Monday–Friday with no call‑out rota or weekend shifts - Maintain a clean DBS and comply with enhanced security screening - Demonstrate a flexible, proactive “can‑do” attitude Key Responsibilities: - Install and commission fire protection, intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control systems at client sites - Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on existing systems - Conduct fault diagnosis and repair to restore full functionality - Keep accurate service records and documentation for each job - Coordinate with clients and internal teams to schedule appointments and resolve issues Required Skills: - Minimum 3 years’ experience in fire safety, security, or related engineering field - Proficient with fire alarm, intrusion, CCTV, and access control equipment (knowledge of leading brands and standards) - Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem‑resolution abilities - Excellent communication and customer‑service skills - Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities - Valid UK driver’s licence (clean) preferred Required Education & Certifications: - Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Fire Safety, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering) - Industry‑approved certificates (e.g., IET / OSHA fire alarm, CCTV, or access control accreditation) - Current and clean DBS/Enhanced Security Screening mandatory This profile is concise, ATS‑friendly, and globally neutral.
