**Job Title**: .NET Developer **Role Summary** Lead developer for a gas and electricity distribution client in Brussels, responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining applications migrating from .NET Framework 4.6.2 to .NET 8. Work 2‑3 days per week onsite, leading code quality, CI/CD, and observability practices within a modular monolith architecture. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, maintainable .NET code on schedule. - Own the CI/CD pipeline and ensure smooth releases. - Mentor peers, enforce best practices, and communicate progress to stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, develop, test, and deploy .NET 8/MVC and Web API services. - Create and maintain Entity Framework Core data layers for MSSQL and Couchbase NoSQL databases. - Containerize solutions using Docker & docker‑compose. - Build and maintain Azure DevOps Pipelines for automated build, test, and release processes. - Implement SignalR real‑time hubs and message bus integrations (MassTransit, ActiveMQ, Artemis). - Apply Clean Architecture and modular monolith patterns. - Add observability with OpenTelemetry; integrate monitoring and distributed tracing. - Write comprehensive unit and integration tests. - Participate in distributed system design and performance tuning. **Required Skills** - C#, .NET Framework 4.6.2, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core. - Entity Framework Core (SQL Server). - Couchbase NoSQL. - Docker, docker‑compose. - Azure DevOps Pipelines, CI/CD. - SignalR, MassTransit, ActiveMQ, Artemis. - RESTful API design. - Background services, scheduled tasks. - Clean Architecture, Domain‑Driven Design principles. - OpenTelemetry, observability tools. - Unit testing frameworks (.NET Test, xUnit, NUnit). - Strong English communication; free to work in multilingual (English, Dutch, French) team environments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer or Azure DevOps Engineer certifications (optional).
