Job Description

Job title Senior Backend Engineer – Client Integrations Role Summary Design, build, and maintain external‑facing API endpoints and integrations that power client workflows and third‑party services. Expectations * 5+ years of software engineering, preferably with API integration experience. * Ownership of end‑to‑end development cycles and delivery with minimal oversight. * Proactive communication of blockers, status, and solutions to stakeholders. * Commitment to experimentation, rapid iteration, and delivery of high‑quality, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities * Architect and implement RESTful / GraphQL APIs using Python. * Optimize database schemas, queries, and performance in PostgreSQL. * Design and deploy serverless / EC2 and asynchronous workflow components. * Integrate with external services (payment, data providers, etc.) and troubleshoot issues. * Collaborate with full‑stack, data, ML, and DevOps teammates on scalable backend solutions. * Diagnose production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and improve reliability. * Contribute to API documentation, code reviews, and best‑practice guidelines. Required Skills * Strong background in system design, debugging, and problem solving. * Proficient in Python; comfortable with other object‑oriented languages acceptable. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Lambda, EC2, etc.) and serverless patterns. * Solid knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. * Familiarity with asynchronous programming, message queues, and event‑driven architectures. * Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code. * Bonus: exposure to LLMs/generative AI, distributed systems, or large‑scale API design.
