**Job Title:** Lead Systems Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Spearhead technical governance and delivery strategy for marine industry applications, driving system architecture, integration, and qualification from concept to service life.
**Expectations:**
Lead end‑to‑end systems engineering, mentor teams, interface with customers, regulators, and partners, and contribute to business development and program road‑mapping.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own system architecture, integration strategy, and technical assurance across the platform.
- Guide systems engineering lifecycle: concept, design, integration, qualification, in‑service support.
- Decompose top‑level requirements into subsystem specifications, verification plans, and maintain traceability.
- Serve as technical authority on system-level decisions, risk management, and trade‑offs.
- Chair technical reviews and enforce engineering governance across delivery teams.
- Engage customers, regulators, and partners to align requirements, compliance, and performance.
- Mentor systems engineers, promote discipline best practices.
- Collaborate with program and product leaders to shape road‑maps, manage integration risks, and oversee change management.
- Provide technical input for bids, proposals, and new programme mobilisation.
**Required Skills:**
- Systems thinking, requirements engineering, interface management, cross‑domain integration.
- Leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement.
- Expertise in architecture, integration, verification & validation.
- Familiarity with MBSE concepts (SysML, Cameo, Capella) – preferred.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, digital engineering toolchains – preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- BPSS clearance (or ability to obtain) and right to work in the UK.
