Job Description
Job Title: Software Requirements Engineer – Contract Role Summary: Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to elicit, analyze, and document software requirements for regulated medical devices (hearing aid firmware, desktop fitting software, and mobile apps). Translate business and user needs into clear, testable specifications, ensure feasibility, resolve conflicts, and support inclusive documentation and process improvements. Expectations: • Maintain stakeholder engagement and clarify requirements. • Coordinate with R&D to verify technical and timeline feasibility. • Resolve requirement conflicts and roadblocks promptly. • Produce unambiguous, testable specifications for development teams. • Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes and cross‑functional communication. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct stakeholder interviews to capture comprehensive product requirements. • Liaise with Product Managers to elicit, analyze, and document requirements. • Coordinate with R&D to evaluate feasibility and adjust timelines as needed. • Translate requirements into clear, testable software specifications. • Update and refine documentation to support regulated software lifecycles. • Collaborate on process improvements and inter‑team communication. • Perform additional related duties to advance software development outcomes. Required Skills: • Strong analytical and prioritization abilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills. • Problem‑solving aptitude. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion) – a plus. • Understanding of software usability principles and regulatory requirements (IREB CPRE‑FL, if available). Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Software Development, or equivalent experience. • 2–5 years of business analysis or requirements engineering experience in a technology environment. • Knowledge of regulated software development lifecycles is an asset. • IREB CPRE‑FL certification is an advantage.
