Job Description
**Job Title:** HR Adviser **Role Summary:** Generalist HR Advisor delivering consistent, UK‑law compliant support across the employee lifecycle. Focus on high‑volume employee relations casework within a unionised, fast‑paced environment, with additional responsibilities in HR projects, policy review, reporting and data analysis. Fixed‑term 12‑month contract. **Expectations:** - Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; manage a large, varied caseload. - Deep understanding of UK employment law and best HR practice. - Strong analytical ability to identify trends and support commercial decision‑making. - Proven negotiation and influence skills to achieve win‑win outcomes. - Effective coaching of line managers on people management and capability building. - Commitment to continuous professional development, ethical behaviour and inclusion. **Key Responsibilities:** - Advise managers on full employee lifecycle matters: probation, performance, discipline, grievances, flexible working, sickness absence, medical capability and occupational health referrals. - Coordinate and lead employee relations investigations and resolution processes, escalating to HR Business Partner when necessary. - Attend formal meetings, disciplinary hearings and grievance procedures. - Support the delivery of HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives and policy/process reviews. - Produce reports and data analytics on employee relations trends and HR metrics. - Collaborate with Occupational Health Advisers on health-related matters. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory requirements and legal updates. **Required Skills:** - High‑level organisational and prioritisation capability. - Extensive HR advisory experience (grievances, disciplinaries, sickness management). - Thorough knowledge of UK employment law and its application. - Advanced problem‑solving, negotiation, and influence skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at building relationships at all levels. - Coaching and managerial development aptitude. - Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. - Ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing circumstances, and manage stress under pressure. **Required Education & Certifications:** - CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in HR. - Relevant UK HR qualifications or equivalent demonstration of functional expertise.
