Job Title: Revenue Officer Role Summary: Serve as the primary face of the transport network, providing customer assistance, promoting correct ticket purchase, and safeguarding revenue through ticket inspections and penalty issuance. Operate independently across routes while collaborating with internal teams, partner agencies, and community events to maintain service integrity and customer confidence. Expactations: * Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times * Demonstrate confidence and calmness in challenging situations * Exhibit honesty, integrity, and respect for company values * Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events * Commit to accurate record‑keeping and continuous service improvement Key Responsibilities: - Patrol the network to inspect tickets, identify fare evasion, and encourage lawful fare purchase. - Issue penalty fare notices in accordance with penalty fare legislation. - Coordinate with partner agencies (e.g., transport police, safeguarding units) to reduce ticketless travel. - Provide immediate, friendly assistance to passengers at all points of contact. - Serve as a reliable information source during service disruptions and large‑scale events. - Participate in surveys, engagement sessions, and marketing initiatives to gather passenger feedback. - Record observations accurately and forward actionable insights to supervisors. - Represent the organization at community and stakeholder events. Required Skills: - Prior customer‑facing experience in transport, retail, or hospitality. - Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Confidence and composure when handling difficult interactions. - Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team. - Numeracy and procedural interpretation capabilities. - Flexibility regarding working hours and duties. - Integrity and pride in representing the organization. Job Description
Job title: Infrastructure Civils Works Operative – Fixed Term (9 Months) Role Summary: Support day‑to‑day maintenance and repair of tramway infrastructure across the West Midlands Metro network, ensuring safety, reliability and quality of service. Work hands‑on on tram stops, drainage, vegetation, and related structures, with opportunities for quick skill development and progression into supervisory roles. Expactations: - Apply high standards of workmanship to maintain tramway assets. - Work flexible hours, including unsocial shifts, nights and weekends. - Adhere to health & safety procedures, report incidents promptly. - Operate within the planned maintenance schedule and asset management system. - Support testing, commissioning and substation work as needed. - Supervise contractors and assist other infrastructure disciplines when required. Key Responsibilities: - Inspect, maintain and repair tram stops, tactile paving, pedestrian crossings, blockwork, furniture, and MML owned structures. - Maintain drainage systems, execute vegetation control, and ensure associated safety. - Paint and upkeep infrastructure assets. - Respond to hazards and implement temporary safety measures pending permanent fixes. - Complete accurate reports, paperwork and AMIS updates. - Provide on‑call emergency response support as required. - Participate in substation switching, testing and commissioning activities. - Assist and supervise contractors across infrastructure projects. Required Skills: - Practical experience in maintenance, construction or landscaping roles. - Strong knowledge of health & safety practices, risk assessment and safe working procedures. - Excellent verbal and written communication. - Proactive attitude, quick learning and ability to work independently. - Team player with basic supervisory capability. - Computer literate – skilled with reporting systems (e.g., AMIS). - Full UK driving licence. Required Education & Certifications: - GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C/4 or above. - Recognition of relevant building or landscaping qualifications is a plus.
