Job Description
**Job title** Interim Director of FP&A **Role Summary** Lead the FP&A function for a fast‑growing, private‑equity‑backed services group. Build and implement financial planning and analysis processes, shift from spreadsheet‑based budgeting to rolling forecasts, and integrate M&A deal models with banking covenants and trading performance. Operate closely with the CFO, board, PE investors and senior leaders to deliver clear, scenario‑driven insights that support acquisition‑driven growth. **Expectations** - Deliver a robust, scalable FP&A framework within a lean finance team. - Translate a high‑velocity acquisition pipeline into coherent group‑level plans and metrics. - Bridge deal‐level finance, covenant requirements and operational performance to provide decision‑ready information. - Drive the finance team to maturity, delivering coaching, structured processes and continued improvement. - Operate strategically with the CFO and tactically as a detailed modeller in a minimal‑infrastructure environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Own overall FP&A for the group, managing budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting. - Convert annual budgeting to rolling forecasting and implement best‑practice performance metrics. - Tighten alignment between M&A deal models, banking covenants and in‑year trading, providing sensitivity scenarios for CFO, board and PE investors. - Collaborate with M&A, finance and leadership to reduce acquisition pipeline into group plans and clear KPIs. - Build and maintain finance policies, processes, and systems for a “green” operation. - Produce and present management information (MI) that highlights performance drivers and supports decision‑making. - Coach and develop the finance team, fostering analytical skills and ownership. **Required Skills** - Transaction services background with Deep deal and modelling expertise. - Big 4 or Top 10 training; strong corporate finance knowledge (IRR, returns bridges, leverage, covenant mechanics). - Proven in‑house FP&A leadership in a PE‑backed or buy‑and‑build environment (multi‑site preferred). - Track record implementing rolling forecasts, budgeting frameworks and decision‑useful MI in rapidly changing businesses. - High energy, resilience, and ability to work with limited infrastructure. - Strong stakeholder management: credible with CFO, PE investors, banks, senior leaders. - Emotional intelligence to coach and stretch a developing finance team. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. - Additional qualification (ACA, ACCA, MBA) preferred if representing Big 4/Top 10 training.
