**Job Title**
Mid‑Level DevOps Engineer (TS/SCI)
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and maintain highly available, secure DevOps pipelines and cloud environments for mission‑critical intelligence applications. Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes and HashiCorp Nomad, implement IaC, ensure continuous integration/continuous delivery, and integrate security testing and monitoring throughout the delivery cycle.
**Expectations**
- Operate in a SCIF environment, working full‑time (40 hrs/wk) in Herndon, VA.
- Maintain active TS/SCI clearance and pass a CI polygraph.
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems.
- Adhere to strict security and compliance standards for government deployments.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deploy and manage HA applications; optimize performance and scalability.
- Build, maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes and HashiCorp Nomad clusters.
- Configure, manage, and tune DNS for enterprise systems.
- Create IaC solutions with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
- Monitor system health, logs, and alerts; proactively resolve issues.
- Automate security testing using ACAS, Trivy, GitLab SAST, Fortify, Sonarqube.
- Analyze scan findings, coordinate false‑positive reviews, and produce Body of Evidence for compliance.
- Patch OS and software, apply STIGs, and perform remediation on managed VMs.
- Develop custom tools for cybersecurity analysis and compliance workflows.
- Configure and maintain release product configurations; assist in network issue resolution.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years DevOps engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (private cloud, HPC environments).
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, HashiCorp Nomad, Docker, and container orchestration.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
- DNS configuration and performance tuning.
- System monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Security‑focused: ACAS, Trivy, SAST tools (GitLab SAST, Fortify, Sonarqube).
- OS patching, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
- Effective troubleshooting and communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to pass Continuous Evaluation polygraph.
