Job Description
Job title: Purchasing Assistant Role Summary Support daily procurement operations in a manufacturing/automation environment. Manage supplier relationships, process purchase orders, monitor deliveries, perform cost analysis, maintain inventory controls, and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Expectations - High energy, strong organizational and time‑management skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting and build positive vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities - Identify, evaluate, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable, high‑quality supply chains. - Negotiate terms and conditions, securing favorable price, delivery, and quality agreements. - Generate, process, and track purchase orders accurately and timely. - Monitor order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues for on‑time material/component arrival. - Conduct cost analysis and comparison to optimize purchasing decisions and pinpoint cost‑saving opportunities. - Collaborate with finance for accurate cost tracking and reporting. - Implement inventory control measures to reduce stockouts and excess inventory. - Work with engineering, production, and quality assurance to understand technical requirements and specifications. - Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, quotes, invoices, and documentation. - Ensure compliance with ISO standards, processes, and procedures applicable to purchasing and logistics. Required Skills - Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Operations Management. - Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or automation. - Strong interpersonal and vendor‑relationship skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. - Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. - Knowledge of machine building and automation components is an asset. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field. - No mandatory certifications specified; ISO compliance knowledge preferred.
