Job Description
**Job Title**: Data Engineer **Role Summary**: Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling infrastructure (Cat5e–Cat7). Execute routing, termination, testing, and certification of data cables in commercial and industrial environments. **Expactations**: - Deliver flawless installations according to industry standards and project plans. - Work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. - Continuously improve cabling quality and reliability. **Key Responsibilities**: - Route, install, and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7). - Install conduits, trunking, traywork, and basket trays. - Interpret and follow marked‑up drawings and site instructions. - Test and certify cables using Fluke network testers or equivalent. - Identify and resolve faults in existing cabling systems. - Maintain proper containment, labeling, and documentation. - Adhere to safety procedures in live office, commercial, or industrial settings. **Required Skills**: - Proficient in cable installation, termination, testing, and fault‑finding. - Strong ability to read and use technical drawings and documentation. - Detail‑oriented with a commitment to high‑quality workmanship. - Effective communication and teamwork. - Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., Cisco, ANSI/TIA, ISO). - Familiarity with Fluke DSX or comparable certification tools. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. - Professional certifications: ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, or equivalent safety certifications (if applicable). - Preferred: Certification in structured cabling (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or specialized cable design courses).
