Job Description
**Job Title:** Handling Equipment Technical Manager **Role Summary:** Oversee the lifecycle, maintenance, and optimization of handling equipment (forklifts, reach stackers, etc.) across multiple business divisions. Lead technical documentation, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring to ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and cost efficiency. **Expectations:** - Provide proactive, high‑quality service to internal stakeholders. - Drive continuous improvement of equipment management processes. - Foster strategic partnerships with manufacturers, service providers, and internal teams. - Navigate multi‑division priorities and operate autonomously with strong decision‑making. **Key Responsibilities:** - Draft and update technical specifications for all handling equipment. - Assess and validate equipment needs for each division, offering recommendations. - Coordinate construction, commissioning, and delivery of new equipment with manufacturers. - Negotiate and manage maintenance contract terms; develop a network of approved service workshops. - Ensure maintenance providers comply with contract specifications and regulatory standards. - Maintain inventory of spare parts and define stock control procedures. - Establish preventive, corrective, and warranty maintenance plans in collaboration with manufacturers. - Track regulatory compliance and stay current on technological developments. - Monitor key performance indicators (equipment uptime, repair costs, defect rates) and report deviations. - Conduct annual equipment audits and prepare technical directives for new acquisitions. - Optimize equipment allocation based on activity levels and division demands. **Required Skills:** - Strong technical engineering background (mechanics, mechatronics). - Project management and coordination across cross‑functional teams. - Supplier relationship management and negotiation. - Proficiency in maintenance planning and performance analysis. - Ability to interpret technical documentation and regulatory requirements. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Analytical mindset for cost and availability data. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum Bac+2/Bac+3 technical degree (e.g., BTS Motorisation, Licence in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering). - 8–10 years of experience managing handling equipment in manufacturing, logistics, or rental contexts. - Knowledge of GMAO (Enterprise Asset Management) systems is a plus. - Relevant certifications in maintenance management or industrial engineering highly valued.
