Job Description: Job title: Senior Frontend Developer – Shopify & Web Technologies Role summary: Lead end‑to‑end development of client Shopify stores, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and scalability. Extend skills to designing custom WordPress sites and JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js, Express.js). Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fully remote, agile environment and act as the primary technical point of contact for clients. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality, production‑ready Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. - Optimize sites for speed, accessibility, and conversion. - Communicate project status, requirements, and solutions clearly to clients and team members. - Scope and estimate work accurately. - Mentor junior developers and share best practices. Key responsibilities: - Build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes, plugins, and page templates. - Implement responsive designs and front‑end optimizations (caching, lazy loading, asset compression). - Utilize version control (git) for code collaboration and release management. - Troubleshoot and resolve front‑end bugs; perform cross‑browser and cross‑device testing. - Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospective meetings. - Coordinate with designers, back‑end developers, and product owners to meet project specifications. - Engage in continuous learning of emerging web technologies and Shopify updates. Required skills: - Expertise in Shopify development, especially Liquid templating. - Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+). - Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass/SCSS). - Version control proficiency (git). - Excellent problem‑solving and attention to detail. - Client‑facing communication skills and ability to scope projects. - Bonus: familiarity with PHP, Blade, WordPress, React, Next.js, Express.js. Required education & certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - Certification in Shopify or related front‑end technologies is a plus.
