Job title: DevOps/Platform Infrastructure Engineer GCP (Mid-level)
Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable GCP infrastructure. Lead cloud migration and modernization projects, enforce IaC best practices, and support continuous delivery pipelines to enable digital transformation for public sector clients.
Expectations:
- 3–5 years of cloud infrastructure engineering, 1+ year on GCP.
- Hands‑on experience building and migrating workloads to GCP.
- Strong IaC craftsmanship (Terraform) and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with architecture, security, and networking teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy GCP-native, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
- Lead or contribute to on‑prem to GCP migration and legacy modernization initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and review Terraform modules; enforce IaC standards.
- Collaborate with architects, security, and networking to meet compliance, performance, and resiliency goals.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and guardrails.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Document architecture, standards, and runbooks; share knowledge across teams.
Required Skills:
- GCP services: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud IAM, VPC, Cloud Operations, Cloud Logging/Monitoring.
- Infrastructure automation: Terraform, IaC best practices.
- Scripting: Python, Bash (or equivalent).
- CI/CD tooling: Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Monitoring/logging: Cloud Operations suite, Prometheus/Grafana.
- Networking: VPC design, subnetting, firewall, VPN, interconnect.
- Security: IAM, resource policies, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP awareness preferred).
- Problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- GCP certifications preferred: Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer, or DevOps Engineer.
