Job Description
Job Title: Business Controller Role Summary: Serve as a strategic financial partner to management, translating financial data into actionable insights, guiding budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and decisions across product lines and projects, while driving process and ERP integration improvements. Expectations: - Own the annual budgeting cycle and internal reporting for the assigned business unit. - Deliver data‑driven analyses and forecasts to influence profitability and working‑capital targets. - Partner with cross‑functional teams, integrating new initiatives into financial workflows and supporting ERP roll‑out. - Communicate findings clearly to senior leadership and champion financial strategy implementation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead budgeting: collect data, challenge assumptions, produce actionable insights. 2. Manage internal and group reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 3. Conduct ad hoc analyses, build forecasts, monitor product/service profitability. 4. Act as financial advisor to departments, providing sound advice for decision making. 5. Integrate new projects/product lines into financial and administrative processes. 6. Identify and drive financial process improvements. 7. Support ERP transition (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), mapping user requirements to functional solutions. 8. Collaborate closely with fellow Business Controllers and Business Intelligence experts. 9. Report directly to the Finance Director, shaping financial strategy and contributing to managerial decisions. Required Skills: - Financial controlling, budgeting and forecasting expertise. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or equivalent). - Experience aligning ERP and accounting functions (revenue, margins, inventory valuation). - Excellent communication skills in Dutch (native), English, and French. - Ability to translate complex financial data into concise business insights. - Hands‑on mindset, capable of combining strategic analysis with operational tasks. - Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field. - 5–8 years of controlling or financial business‑partner experience in a complex organization. - Native level Dutch; fluent in English and French. - Relevant financial or ERP certifications preferred but not mandatory.
