Job Description
Job Title: Systems Engineer – DV Cleared – NetApp Role Summary: Manage the day‑to‑day operation and security of MOD systems, focusing on NetApp storage environments and related infrastructure. Provide monitoring, patching, and incident response within a defence context. Expectations: 2‑3 year, outside IR35 contract; full‑time on‑site at Lincoln (5 days/week). Must hold an active DV clearance. Contract is long‑term with defined national security responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Administer NetApp storage (ONTAP, SnapMirror, SnapVault, Snapshot, Migrator) and ensure performance. - Conduct regular patching, updates and security monitoring of Windows/Linux servers. - Manage ServiceNow tickets, incidents, change requests, and knowledge base entries. - Configure and monitor Fortinet security appliances if required. - Enforce MOD security policies, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement controls. - Perform capacity planning, backups, and data protection tasks. - Escalate complex issues and provide 24/7 support where necessary. Required Skills: - Proven NetApp storage administration experience. - Strong Windows and Linux systems administration background. - Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools. - Knowledge of security operations, patch management, and vulnerability management. - Familiarity with defence or military IT infrastructures. - Fortinet knowledge preferred. - Excellent troubleshooting, communication and documentation abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum relevant IT qualification (e.g., BSc IT, Computer Science). - Current Defence Vetting (DV) clearance. - NetApp certifications (CCA, CCSA, etc.) desirable but not mandatory. - Fortinet certifications (NSE) desirable.
