Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer Intern Role Summary: 3–6 month unpaid internship focused on UI/UX design and front‑end development for a marketplace platform that connects restaurants with food businesses. Responsibilities include designing onboarding flows, dashboards, booking interfaces, and implementing corresponding React/Next.js components with Tailwind CSS or similar frameworks. Expectations: Active participation in a fast‑paced, early‑stage engineering environment; collaboration with senior engineers; ownership of small to medium projects; continuous learning and iterative improvement. Key Responsibilities: • Design and iterate UI/UX mockups and user flows for onboarding, dashboards, and booking pages. • Translate designs into responsive, production‑ready React/Next.js components using Tailwind or equivalent CSS frameworks. • Build and maintain core modules: listings, messaging, booking flows, and marketplace UI. • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to convert requirements into code. • Test, debug, and optimize front‑end performance and accessibility. • Contribute to iterative releases and product feedback loops. Required Skills: • Proficiency in React (hooks), Next.js, and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Styled‑Components, etc.). • Solid understanding of build tools, Git, and CI/CD workflows. • Ability to convert UI/UX designs (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) into pixel‑perfect code. • Strong usability, accessibility, and responsive‑design sense. • Problem‑solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and effective communication. Required Education & Certifications: • Current CS student, recent graduate, or bootcamp graduate with front‑end focus. • Portfolio or GitHub showcasing front‑end projects or UI/UX work. • No mandatory certifications; coursework in UI/UX design, Web Development, or HCI is a plus.
