Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data stores; prepare and clean data for application and analytics use; conduct code reviews, testing, and documentation; collaborate with stakeholders to define functional requirements and project plans. **Expectations:** Deliver robust, production‑ready data solutions that meet performance and quality standards; maintain thorough test coverage and documentation; provide user training and knowledge transfer; engage in peer code reviews and system analysis to ensure alignment with business goals. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and optimize SQL‑based ETL pipelines and data storage solutions. - Clean, transform, and prepare data for consumption by applications and analytics platforms. - Participate in peer code reviews and enforce internal coding standards. - Write and execute unit tests, record results, and ensure thorough testing before release. - Debug and resolve data pipeline and program issues. - Provide user training and support, and transfer knowledge to operational staff. - Create system and programming documentation per internal standards. - Interface with users to gather functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Conduct detailed systems analysis to define scope, objectives, and design solutions. - Collaborate with Business Analysts to develop system requirements documentation. - Establish project plans, schedules, and status reporting. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts. - Experience designing and building ETL pipelines. - Familiarity with SAP Data Services (preferred). - Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills. - Ability to produce clear technical documentation and conduct user training. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
