Job Description: **Job title:** Staff Software Engineer – MetaMask (Ramps) **Role Summary:** Lead the technical vision and delivery for MetaMask’s Ramps product, enabling seamless fiat on‑off‑ramping across web, mobile, and extension platforms. Manage a cross‑functional engineering team, architect secure and scalable systems, and drive architecture decisions that directly impact revenue‑generating user flows. **Expectations:** - Own end‑to‑end technical strategy for ramp features. - Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile. - Collaborate with product, design, and cross‑team engineers to ship high‑quality cross‑platform releases. - Champion clean code, rigorous testing, observability, and performance. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Define and execute the technical roadmap for Ramps, ensuring alignment with product and business goals. 2. Design and build secure, scalable integrations with third‑party ramp providers and payment infrastructure. 3. Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and enforce coding standards. 4. Lead architecture decisions, particularly those affecting revenue streams and system reliability. 5. Coordinate with mobile and extension teams to deliver a unified, seamless ramping experience. 6. Maintain system observability, performance tuning, and incident response readiness. 7. Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering ownership and high‑quality deliverables. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years full‑stack/backend engineering experience. - 3+ years expertise with mobile technologies (iOS/Android). - 3+ years building web applications. - Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web frameworks. - Strong architectural judgment and prior leadership/mentorship roles. - Experience with payment APIs, third‑party integrations, and handling edge cases and security. - Agile delivery in remote collaboration environments. - Excellent written and spoken English communication. - Clean‑code discipline, automated testing, and documentation practices. - Strategic mindset balancing technical quality with business impact. - Passion for Web3, decentralization, and open systems. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
