Job Description

Job title: Senior Backend Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain high‑availability backend services that power global, instant payment transactions. Own the full lifecycle of core systems, from data models and APIs to deployment, monitoring, and operational support, while driving technical excellence and scalability. Expactations: * Deliver reliable, secure, and scalable payment infrastructure. * Integrate with banks, payment processors, and compliance/identity providers. * Establish and enforce coding standards and architectural best practices. * Mentor team members and lead code reviews. * Own cloud infrastructure and CI/CD workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and build distributed backend services in TypeScript/Node.js. - Own data models, REST/GraphQL APIs, and deployment pipelines. - Integrate external systems (payment processors, banks, identity providers). - Design for high availability, performance, and security. - Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems. - Create internal tooling and automation to enhance developer productivity. - Define and champion backend engineering best practices. - Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization, and IaC (Terraform). - Collaborate with leadership on technical strategy and architecture decisions. - Conduct code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. Required Skills: - • Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js. - • Proven design and implementation of scalable, distributed systems. - • Deep familiarity with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes. - • Expertise in monitoring, logging, alerting, and high‑availability patterns. - • API design and integration with third‑party systems. - • Clear communication and cross‑functional collaboration. - • Experience with financial systems or payment integrations is essential. - • Knowledge of Rust, Temporal, or similar technologies is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) are advantageous but not mandatory.
