Job title: Director of E‑Commerce & Marketplace
Role Summary:
Lead the end‑to‑end e‑commerce operation across Amazon, Shopify Plus, and other marketplaces for a multi‑brand portfolio. Own the P&L, drive profitable revenue growth, align digital strategy with brand objectives, and partner with marketing, finance, operations, and brand teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and operational excellence.
Expectations:
- 10+ years in e‑commerce leadership with proven success on Amazon (FBA) and DTC (Shopify Plus) channels.
- Strong track record of managing multi‑brand e‑commerce P&Ls, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Experience building and scaling in‑house Amazon teams and managing external agency partners.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies, optimize performance marketing, and improve marketplace listings.
- Data‑driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools, KPIs, and real‑time decision making.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own overall e‑commerce P&L: budgeting, forecasting, margin optimization, and profitability analysis.
- Develop and execute medium‑ to long‑term growth strategies for Amazon, Shopify Plus, Walmart, TikTok, and other relevant marketplaces.
- Align e‑commerce initiatives with brand objectives, marketing campaigns, and product launches.
- Partner with finance to build monthly/annual forecasts, monitor performance, and adjust tactics in real time.
- Manage Amazon strategy: revenue, profitability, brand positioning, and compliance with platform guidelines.
- Build and grow in‑house Amazon team while overseeing agency relationships and ensuring high‑quality execution.
- Oversee Amazon advertising, marketplace performance marketing, paid search, and social/affiliate programs.
- Coordinate with operations on demand planning, inventory, FBA strategy, and supply‑chain optimization.
- Own the digital experience on Shopify Plus: site merchandising, UX, promotions, conversion, AOV, and retention.
- Identify and prioritize new platforms and technologies to drive growth and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a high‑level network of platform experts and advisors; stay current on platform updates and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Leadership & team building (lead multimillion‑revenue e‑commerce teams).
- P&L management and financial acumen.
- Strategic planning and execution.
- Deep understanding of Amazon marketplace mechanics (listing, SEO, advertising, analytics).
- Expertise in Shopify Plus architecture, UX, conversion optimization, and digital merchandising.
- Performance marketing proficiency (paid search, Meta, TikTok, influencer, affiliate).
- Data analytics tools: Google Analytics, Data Studio, BQE, Tableau, Excel (advanced).
- Stakeholder management across marketing, brand, finance, and operations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Certifications in Amazon Advertising and/or Marketplace solutions (e.g., Amazon Seller University, Amazon Advertising Courses) are advantageous.
- Continuous professional development in e‑commerce analytics, digital marketing, and platform-specific certifications.
