Job title: Operations Manager – Security
Role Summary: Senior operational leader responsible for overseeing all security services (control room, mobile patrol, manned guarding, keyholding, alarm response) to ensure high standards, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.
Expactations: Demonstrate strategic vision, continuous improvement focus, and resilience in fast‑paced environments while maintaining service excellence across teams and third‑party providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop duty managers, supervisors and partner teams, fostering a professional, proactive culture.
- Set, maintain and continuously improve operational standards aligned with SIA ACS, ISO 9001, NSI Gold, and relevant British Standards.
- Review, embed and optimise systems, processes, policies and procedures to drive quality and efficiency.
- Manage contract performance and quality assurance for all third‑party services, ensuring SLAs and continuous improvement.
- Plan workforce resourcing, schedule duties and oversee mobile, guard and control‑room operations.
- Act as senior escalation point for operational incidents and provide out‑of‑hours duty support.
Required Skills
- Senior‑level experience in security operations (manned guarding, mobile response, control room).
- Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Strong understanding of contract management, service delivery models and SLAs.
- Excellent planning, execution, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
- Detail‑oriented, resilient and able to work effectively in demanding, fast‑paced settings.
Required Education & Certifications
- Valid, active SIA Licence (SG, DS or CP); CCTV licence advantageous.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, SIA ACS and British Standards (BS 7499, 10800, 7984‑1/3).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); familiarity with workforce management/rostering systems.
