Junior Network Technician

Job Description

**Job Title:** Junior Network Technician **Role Summary:** Supports installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking infrastructure for a large digital advertising screen network, ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance across multiple locations. **Expectations:** - Work under the guidance of senior technicians to learn site‑specific network designs and company protocols. - Participate in field deployments, monitoring systems, and documentation to meet service‑level objectives. - Demonstrate a proactive stance on troubleshooting and continuous improvement of network reliability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Install, configure, and test network hardware (switches, routers, cabling, Wi‑Fi access points) at new and existing digital advertising sites. - Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. - Collaborate with remote support teams to resolve connectivity issues and update configuration records in the central asset system. - Maintain accurate inventory of networking equipment and supplies, and support inventory audits. - Provide on‑site support during scheduled maintenance windows and emergency outages. - Gather and document field observations to assist in the development of technical manuals and troubleshooting guides. **Required Skills:** - Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, and VLAN concepts. - Familiarity with common networking devices (Cisco, Juniper, HP). - Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical schematics. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities. - Effective communication in written and spoken English. - Physical ability to work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, elevated work). - Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary coursework in networking or related fields is a plus. - Entry‑level networking certification (CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) preferred but not mandatory.
