Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Project Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead and manage complex environmental remediation projects, overseeing field investigations, technical reporting, client and regulatory communications, and project proposal development. Serve as a senior technical reviewer and mentor, driving quality, safety, and timely delivery. **Expactations:** • 8+ years in environmental, engineering, or water resource consulting. • Bachelor’s degree from a 4‑year college or university. • 40‑hour OSHA certification and current 8‑Hour HAZWOPER refresher. • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to engage clients, regulators, field staff, and subcontractors. • Ability to develop project work plans, health & safety plans, traffic and erosion control plans. • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and cost tracking. 2. Prepare and review technical reports, including remedial/removal action documentation. 3. Supervise soil and groundwater investigations, field sampling, and field procedures. 4. Develop and audit technical approach content for proposals. 5. Lead business development activities and proposal preparation. 6. Mentor and develop staff; delegate tasks and ensure completion. 7. Maintain client expectations and regular communication with stakeholders and regulatory agencies. 8. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and corporate standards. 9. Document and maintain project records for closure. 10. Forecast personal utilization and report availability to supervisor. **Required Skills:** - Project management (scope, schedule, cost). - Technical writing and report review. - Leadership and staff supervision. - Client and regulatory liaison. - Field operations oversight. - Configuration of health & safety plans. - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry). - 40‑hour OSHA certification. - Current 8‑Hour HAZWOPER refresher. - Additional professional certifications (P.E., P.G.) and advanced degree credentials are considered a plus.
