**Job title:** AWS Platform Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and automated AWS cloud infrastructure. Deliver reusable infrastructure modules and CI/CD pipelines, manage AWS landing zones, enforce governance and security, and support cross‑functional teams with platform enablement. Expand expertise to Azure and Google Cloud as needed.
**Expectations:**
- Own and evolve AWS platform capabilities, ensuring secure-by-default, policy‑driven environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve operational excellence.
- Champion cloud‑native security practices and cost controls.
- Actively evaluate new AWS services to align with business needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build reusable IaC modules (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild).
- Contribute to internal AWS Landing Zone architecture across multiple accounts.
- Implement IAM, Service Control Policies, tagging, and cost‑management controls.
- Monitor environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Config.
- Secure pipelines and configurations, integrate Secrets Manager/KMS, and perform vulnerability management.
- Coach development, data, and delivery teams on platform best practices and golden paths.
- Stay current with AWS features, assess capabilities, and recommend platform enhancements.
**Required Skills:**
- 3+ years of hands‑on production AWS experience.
- Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and GitOps concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Argo, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild).
- Deep knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, PrivateLink, Security Groups, Route Tables, Transit Gateway).
- Expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM, Organizations, SSO).
- Monitoring and security experience (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Config, Security Hub).
- Container orchestration skills (Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift, Helm, Kustomize, Docker/Podman).
- Troubleshooting cloud‑native, micro‑service, networking, and infrastructure issues.
- Exposure to AWS data and AI/ML services (SageMaker, Comprehend, Rekognition) preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer strongly desired.
