Job Description
Job title: Market Development Manager – South Texas/Valley Role Summary: Lead sales performance and retailer execution for assigned South Texas/Valley territory. Partner with area GM to set priorities, develop business plans, and drive volume, distribution, and investment goals across key wholesalers and retail accounts. Expectations: - Bilingual in Spanish. - Minimum 3 years consumer packaged goods sales and management experience. - Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word; proficiency in Cognos 7/8 and Retail Vision. - Ability to travel 30% of the time (including up to 5‑hour drives). - Demonstrated initiative, relationship building, commitment follow‑through, strong communication, analytical, and math skills. Key Responsibilities: - Manage Wholesaler portfolio: implement Constellation Retail Vision, standards, and practices; oversee POS material allocation and usage. - Direct training and development for Wholesalers. - Conduct annual and trimester planning sessions to set volume, distribution, and CTF goals; develop mutually agreed plans with Wholesalers. - Identify and execute market‑specific business development opportunities; close distribution gaps for key national/regional on‑premise accounts. - Price determination: recommend pricing changes, secure Wholesaler commitment, ensure PTR/PTC targets, evaluate new product pricing. - CTF budgeting: create investment strategies per Sales Priority, annual business plan, monitor compliance. - New product rollout: coordinate with Key, National Accounts, Wholesalers. - Volume initiatives: analyze performance gaps, recommend corrective actions, develop tactics, secure Wholesaler commitment. - Supply chain oversight: ensure adequate inventory levels, proper rotation, address code‑date/aging issues. Required Skills: - Bilingual Spanish/English competence. - Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Experience with Cognos 7/8, Retail Vision, and other sales reporting tools. - Strong oral, written, interpersonal communication. - Analytical and problem‑solving abilities; adept in budgeting and forecasting. - Ability to drive results with minimal supervision; proactive initiative. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience in CPG sales and management.
