**Job Title:** Staff Solutions Architect
**Role Summary:**
Senior technical leader who guides government and public‑sector customers through the full API lifecycle using Kong’s platform. Acts as a trusted advisor, delivering architecture, implementation, and deployment services, driving adoption, satisfaction, and retention while collaborating with internal product, engineering, and success teams.
**Expectations:**
- 8+ years in professional services, technical consulting, or hands‑on support roles.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑stakeholder engagements with minimal supervision.
- US citizenship and willingness to travel 10‑25% (remote work with onsite visits).
- Strong communication, organizational, and change‑management skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and deliver end‑to‑end API gateway solutions (Kong) for enterprise customers.
- Conduct technical workshops and hands‑on implementation for architects, developers, security, and operations teams.
- Lead billable projects, guiding installation, configuration, and production rollout.
- Provide technical thought leadership and outcome‑based recommendations throughout the customer journey.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to maximize customer value.
- Develop internal tooling or scripts to extend platform capabilities and improve delivery efficiency.
**Required Skills:**
- Hands‑on experience with API gateways/API integration.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and virtual machine infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Linux environments and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with DevOps, security, and networking fundamentals.
- Software development experience in Java, Python, Lua, or similar languages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset, teamwork orientation, and adaptability to fast‑changing environments.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes Certified Administrator, Cloud Provider certifications) are preferred but not mandatory.
