Job Title: Data Scientist
Role Summary: Design, develop, and deploy production‑grade AI models that deliver tangible business value. Collaborate closely with data engineers, strategists, and project managers to translate client needs into data‑driven solutions.
Expactations:
- Bring advanced knowledge in machine learning, statistics, and mathematics.
- Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex data concepts into accessible insights for business stakeholders.
- Demonstrate hands‑on experience building models across time‑series, NLP, and image recognition domains.
- Exhibit strong coding standards, including unit testing, clean code, and thorough documentation.
- Operate within agile frameworks (Scrum) to iterate quickly and deliver incremental value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explore, clean, and transform structured and unstructured data to extract actionable insights.
- Analyze data using advanced techniques and visualise findings for decision‑makers.
- Engage with clients to understand business objectives and guide AI adoption.
- Design and train AI models, selecting appropriate architectures and optimizing performance.
- Deploy models to the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and integrate with APIs, databases (SQL, NoSQL, Blob), and data pipelines.
- Maintain model reliability through continuous monitoring, evaluation, and refactoring.
- Participate in technical discussions, challenge existing approaches, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Represent the organization at industry events and conferences to disseminate expertise.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and libraries (scikit‑learn, pandas, numpy, etc.).
- Comfortable with Jupyter Notebook, SQL, and data querying.
- Solid grasp of machine learning fundamentals, including supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and feature engineering.
- Experience with time‑series analysis, natural language processing, or computer vision.
- Hands‑on knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with NoSQL and blob storage.
- Expertise in API integration and RESTful services.
- Strong software engineering practices: unit testing, clean code, DRY, code reviews, version control.
- Agile (Scrum) experience with a focus on rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified, GCP Professional Data Engineer, Azure AI Engineer) are highly desirable.
