Job Description
**Job Title** Applied ML/AI Engineer – Monitoring **Role Summary** Design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning driven monitoring solutions that detect data quality issues across diverse data warehouses and databases. Own end‑to‑end pipelines, integrate models into production, and collaborate across engineering and product teams to enhance observability and automated incident handling. **Expectations** - Deliver production‑ready ML systems with minimal external support. - Proactively propose and implement ML enhancements to improve alert accuracy, root‑cause analysis, and user experience. - Communicate effectively in English; basic French proficiency acceptable. - Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and cross‑functional interviews. **Key Responsibilities** - Build automated data profiling engines that learn normal data patterns and flag deviations. - Deploy and tune time‑series forecasting models that incorporate seasonality and business cycles. - Create intelligent alerting mechanisms to reduce noise via ML‑powered incident correlation. - Design generative‑AI workflows enabling natural‑language monitoring requests. - Implement automated monitor recommendation and root‑cause analysis features based on metadata (lineage, query history, past failures). - Integrate ML components with micro‑services (Python back‑end, Java API, VueJS front‑end). - Maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), monitor metrics (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana), and error logging (Sentry). - Collaborate with data engineers and product managers on feature prioritization and performance monitoring. **Required Skills** - 3+ years in an ML engineering role or equivalent production ML experience. - Proficiency in Python with deep learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar). - Strong knowledge of time‑series modeling, forecasting, and anomaly detection. - Experience with ML pipeline orchestration (Temporal, Airflow, or similar). - Familiarity with modern data stack: Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS services (RDS, EKS). - Basic understanding of Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript/VueJS for integration. - Git version control, CI/CD best practices, and containerized deployments (Kubernetes). - Ability to design scalable, fault‑tolerant systems and optimize model latency. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French conversational skills valued. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant certifications in ML, data engineering, or cloud technologies are a plus but not mandatory.
