Job Description
Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer Role Summary: Support, maintain and improve automated manufacturing equipment and processes in a high‑volume bakery environment, ensuring plant reliability, quality, safety and efficiency through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives. Expectations: * Adopt a proactive “Right First Time” maintenance approach. * Collaborate closely with engineering, operations and quality teams. * Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects, KPIs and waste‑reduction efforts. * Mentor non‑electrical engineers and assist electrical staff in mastering automated machinery. Key Responsibilities: * Advise on design, installation and commissioning of small projects and initiatives. * Inspect, troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment. * Ensure plant productivity, quality, safety and environmental compliance. * Maximise utilisation of engineering assets and support line‑efficiency KPIs. * Deliver training and knowledge transfer for cross‑functional teams. * Implement and monitor proactive maintenance strategies and process improvements. Required Skills: * Experience in automated manufacturing environments. * Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic manuals and drawings. * Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across multiple disciplines. * Excellent communication and team‑collaboration abilities. * Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and waste reduction. Required Education & Certifications: * Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, or equivalent. * Level 3 Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification (or similar).
