Job Description
**Job Title:** Employee Relations Advisor **Role Summary** Provide short‑term (minimum 3 months, potential extension) support in a multi‑site, unionised supply‑chain organisation. Deliver expert ER investigations, advice and support to a workforce of 700+ employees, managing high‑volume ER cases and maintaining productive union relations. **Expectations** - Commit to a 3‑month assignment with the possibility of extension; 3‑month notice expected. - Operate independently across multiple sites, engaging with managers and staff on ER matters. - Apply specialized HR knowledge to deliver balanced, policy‑aligned yet pragmatic advice. - Foster collaborative relations with union representatives during investigations. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Conduct thorough ER investigations (disciplinary, grievance, performance, disciplinary/disciplinary appeals). 2. Deliver written findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior HR and senior management. 3. Maintain accurate, confidential dossier for all ER cases. 4. Advise managers on ER best practices, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. 5. Represent the organisation in union meetings, negotiations and dispute resolution. 6. Participate in cross‑functional HR projects and initiatives, as required. 7. Ensure timely and consistent communication with employees, management and unions. **Required Skills** - In‑depth knowledge of UK employment law, ER and industrial relations frameworks. - Strong investigative, analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex information clearly. - Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; manage high volume of cases. - Demonstrated experience in unionised environments; skills in negotiation and relationship management. - Proficiency in HRIS, MS Office Suite and case‑management tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - Level 5–6 HR qualification (e.g., CIPD Level 6, SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SP) or equivalent. - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in employee relations, industrial relations or senior HR adviser role. ---
