**Job Title**
Backup and Object Storage Administrator
**Role Summary**
Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and evolution of Commvault backup solutions and Dell EMC ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) on‑premise. Ensure data protection, availability, and compliance across Windows, Linux, virtual, and database environments.
**Expectations**
- Keep the backup and object storage environment fully operational and aligned with organizational requirements.
- Maintain secure, compliant, and efficient data protection strategies.
- Participate in audits, continuous improvement projects, and security hardening initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Commvault Administration**: manage backup/restore policies for Windows, Linux, VMware, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL; supervise job execution; troubleshoot incidents; update media agents, CommServe, storage and schedule policies.
- **ECS S3 Administration**: create/manage buckets, users, ACLs, and access policies; monitor cluster performance and capacity; enforce high‑availability, data immutability, and security (encryption, authentication).
- **Integration & Automation**: connect internal applications to S3 via API; use PowerShell/Bash scripting for automation.
- **Supervision & Reporting**: set up dashboards and alerts; generate regular status reports; participate in daily infrastructure checks.
- **Projects & Evolution**: contribute to backup/storage architecture studies, new‑solution testing, and infrastructure hardening with security teams; perform ongoing technology scouting.
**Required Skills**
- Mastery of Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery.
- Deep knowledge of Dell EMC ECS and S3 protocol.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux, VMware, SAN/NAS, and database administration.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Manage Engine, Graylog, OpenSearch, etc.).
- Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
- Self‑driven, organized, and a collaborative team player.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- BAC +5 (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in backup and object‑storage administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Commvault Certified, Dell EMC Certified) are highly desirable.
