**Job Title:** Head of Engineering
**Role Summary:**
Strategic leader responsible for shaping, scaling, and delivering the engineering function of a fast‑growing startup. Reports to the CEO and collaborates with product, design, sales, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure high‑quality, performant, and scalable digital products (Flutter front‑end, Node.js back‑end). Drives technical vision, team growth, architecture decisions, and data‑driven delivery.
**Expectations:**
- 5+ years in senior engineering leadership (Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or comparable cross‑functional role).
- Proven ability to recruit, onboard, mentor, and evaluate technical talent.
- Strong autonomy, prioritization, and initiative‑taking.
- Fluent French and operational English.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead and expand front‑end (Flutter), back‑end (Node.js), QA, and Tech Lead teams; manage performance reviews, career paths, and hiring.
- Define and champion the technical vision aligned with product and business strategy; oversee architecture, technical debt, security, and reliability.
- Establish development best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD) and continuously improve them.
- Plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects on schedule and quality standards; run agile ceremonies and coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Leverage technical and product data to monitor quality, performance, availability, and team velocity; drive data‑informed optimization.
- Serve as primary technical liaison for internal teams; communicate project status, technical trade‑offs, and produce documentation.
**Required Skills:**
- Expertise in Flutter and Node.js ecosystems.
- Deep knowledge of software development best practices (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code review).
- Strong agile methodology understanding and experience managing agile teams.
- Data‑analytics mindset with ability to define, track, and act on KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, high‑growth environment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
