Job Description

Job Title: Junior Project Buyer Role Summary: Provide procurement support for material and subcontractor procurement on construction and industrial projects, ensuring best‑value, quality, sustainability and digital supply‑chain integration. Expectations: Operate across multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment; act as a category specialist; build and manage end‑to‑end supply chains; deliver cost‑effective solutions that balance price, quality and sustainability; support carbon‑reduction initiatives and align with group procurement strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Procure all project materials per agreed strategies. - Source, award and manage subcontractor contracts. - Deliver competitive solutions balancing cost, quality, and sustainability. - Serve as a category specialist for construction/building services projects. - Build, structure, monitor and evaluate supply‑chain performance. - Implement digital Supply‑Chain Relationship Management tools. - Support carbon‑reduction programmes through supplier selection. - Align procurement activities with group objectives. Required Skills: - Strong understanding of strategic procurement/buying practices. - Effective negotiation and problem‑solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Excellent verbal and written communication; teamwork orientation. - Systematic, methodical, detail‑oriented, strong time‑management. - Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel. - Experience in M&E building services, procurement or commercial roles is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree accredited by CIPS, RICS or CIOB, or equivalent procurement certification. - Experience in M&E building services or a procurement/commercial role is desirable.
