Job Title: Operations Manager
Role Summary
Oversee day‑to‑day operations across manufacturing and distribution sites, ensuring on‑time, on‑quality, and cost‑effective delivery of products. Drive continuous improvement, maintain safety and compliance, and manage supplier and transportation relationships to meet customer satisfaction KPIs.
Expectations
- Deliver consistent on‑time performance and quality metrics for orders and deliveries.
- Lead cross‑functional teams, fostering engagement, collaboration, and accountability.
- Implement Lean and other process‑improvement initiatives that yield measurable gains in efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure a safe workplace and adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers and carriers; monitor service levels.
- Analyze operational data (inventory, costs, transit times, KPIs) to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
- Report performance, trends, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage operations staff to meet time, quality, efficiency, accuracy, and monthly targets.
2. Develop and execute operational strategies, aligning with organizational goals and Lean principles.
3. Cultivate a safe environment through systematic safety and health practices.
4. Drive continuous improvement, engaging employees in Lean activities to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
5. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and transportation providers; secure cost‑effective rates.
6. Ensure transportation services meet quality, on‑time, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.
7. Gather, analyze, and report data on inventory, shipping costs, delivery times, and KPIs to highlight improvement areas.
8. Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; uphold the corporate code of conduct.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Proven operational leadership across manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
- Expertise in Lean methodology, continuous improvement, and quantitative performance measurement.
- Strategic planning combined with day‑to‑day operational execution.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract‑driven mindset.
- Analytical capability – data collection, KPI tracking, root cause analysis.
- Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration.
- Customer‑service orientation and business relationship building.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, execute under pressure, and lead by example.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related technical field.
- Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive operational leadership experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and Lean/continuous improvement programs (certifications optional but advantageous).
