Job Description
**Job Title:** Project Engineer (Fire & Security) **Role Summary:** Responsible for the professional installation, commissioning, and handover of fire detection, alarm, and security systems on commercial and residential projects. Ensures compliance with design specifications, regulatory standards, and health & safety requirements while delivering projects on time and within budget. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality installations across multiple sites in London and surrounding areas. - Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and industry regulations. - Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams. - Provide accurate project documentation and reporting. **Key Responsibilities:** - Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics for fire and security systems. - Install, test, and commission fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder detection equipment. - Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and ensure all work complies with relevant codes (e.g., BS 5839, BS 7276). - Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to schedule deliveries and manage on‑site activities. - Resolve technical issues and troubleshoot system faults during installation. - Prepare as‑built documentation, commissioning reports, and client handover packs. - Support post‑installation service and warranty activities as needed. **Required Skills:** - Strong knowledge of fire protection and security system design and installation. - Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. - Proficiency with installation tools, testing equipment, and commissioning software. - Project planning and time‑management abilities. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Fire Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification). - Relevant certifications such as CSCS, NEBOSH (or equivalent health & safety qualification). - Vendor‑specific training/certification for fire alarm or security systems (e.g., ADI, Tyco, Bosch) preferred.
