Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Privacy Lead **Role Summary** Lead global data privacy initiatives, ensuring compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks. Drive Privacy‑by‑Design integration, manage vendor privacy agreements, advise senior leadership, and coordinate cross‑functional privacy threat mitigation. **Expectations** - Achieve full regulatory compliance across all products and services. - Embed privacy safeguards into product and process design from inception to release. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving privacy laws and industry standards. - Effectively communicate privacy requirements to stakeholders and external regulators. **Key Responsibilities** - Oversee end‑to‑end privacy program, aligning with local, national, and international laws. - Develop and enforce a Privacy‑by‑Design framework, including for AI‑driven products. - Coordinate vendor qualification and execute Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIS). - Implement technical and organizational privacy controls in collaboration with IT, product, and engineering teams. - Monitor data handling practices to ensure statutory compliance. - Create and update privacy training materials; deliver ongoing employee education. - Advise executive leadership on privacy impacts and embed privacy into business processes. - Lead investigations and impact assessments during security incidents. - Serve as primary liaison for data protection authorities and data subjects. - Standardize privacy processes across risk frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and NIST. **Required Skills** - In‑depth knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR Part 11, Part 820). - Proven experience in implementing Privacy‑by‑Design and related technical controls. - Strong analytical, risk assessment, and incident‑response capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to translate complex privacy requirements into actionable guidance. - Collaborative mindset for cross‑functional engagement and vendor relationship management. - Ability to travel up to 10 % of time and work remotely. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in law, health information management, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 5–8 years of privacy compliance experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices or Software as a Medical Device. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer) preferred but not mandatory.
