Job Description
**Job Title:** Business Intelligence Analyst **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical products to support IT governance, EPLC/CPIC reporting, information security, and operational performance for a federal health agency. Translate complex program and system data into clear, executive‑ready insights for leadership, program managers, and technical teams. **Expactations:** - Drive the creation of interactive dashboards and scorecards for program performance, IT governance, and compliance reporting. - Ensure all visualizations meet accessibility, clarity, and usability standards, including Section 508 considerations. - Produce accurate, timely analytical outputs for monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reporting to CDC, HHS, and OMB. - Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (program managers, InfoSec, system owners) to define reporting requirements and present findings. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and develop Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics using data from SQL Server, SharePoint, Excel/CSV, service desk, and security tools. - Extract, transform, and analyze structured and semi‑structured data; develop data models, calculated measures, and KPIs aligned to CDC/HHS standards. - Validate data accuracy and consistency across multiple reporting sources. - Support EPLC and CPIC reporting, including schedules, milestones, risks, issues, and performance metrics. - Produce monthly status reports, quarterly risk reports, and annual/final reports via automated or semi‑automated visual solutions. - Provide analytical support for InfoSec, governance, and asset oversight reporting. - Respond to ad‑hoc data requests from CDC OD, HHS, and OMB by developing rapid analytical views or visual summaries. - Document dashboards, data sources, assumptions, and refresh schedules. **Required Skills:** - **BI Tools:** Power BI (DAX, Power Platform), R Shiny (preferred) - **Data Platforms:** SQL Server (2012‑2017+), SharePoint 2016/Online, Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) - **Visualization Best Practices:** KPI scorecards, trend analysis, risk dashboards, accessibility (Section 508) - **Compliance & Governance Knowledge:** EPLC, CPIC, IT governance reporting, federal IT environments, security/privacy regulations (PII, FISMA, FedRAMP) - **Soft Skills:** Strong visual storytelling, simplification of complex technical data, attention to detail, independent work in regulated environment, excellent verbal and written communication **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Optional: Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or equivalent BI certification. ---
